Joseph L. Edmonds, MD, FACS, FAAP, is a board-certified pediatric otolaryngologist at Houston Specialty Clinic. Dr. Edmonds treats a wide range of ear, nose, and throat conditions affecting infants, children, and adolescents at the office location in Richmond, Texas.
Dr. Edmonds completed his medical education at the University of Kansas School of Medicine, and continued with his otolaryngology residency training at the university. After his residency, he pursued a two-year fellowship at the Children’s Hospital of San Diego.
He is certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology. In addition, he is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and the American College of Surgeons.
Dedicated to his field, Dr. Edmonds has been practicing pediatric otolaryngology in Houston since 2000, and has been continuously recognized by his peers as “Top Doctor” for over 20 years.
Dr. Edmonds is involved in several ongoing research projects, including the surgical placement of vagal nerve stimulators (VNS). He is also affiliated with Texas Children’s Hospital, as well as Shriners Children's Texas.
With a passion for education, Dr. Edmonds teaches at Baylor College of Medicine in the department of otolaryngology (head and neck surgery), along with his courses at the University of Texas and the Weill Medical College of Cornell University.
In his free time, Dr. Edmonds enjoys traveling with his wife and their four children. He is also an active member of the community, taking a special interest in community health issues and volunteering his time at Casa Juan Diego. He also supports a medical mission program for physicians in Kathmandu, Nepal.
